School policies

Rules & Regulations

At Radhe Shyam Public School (RSPS), we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and disciplined environment that promotes academic excellence and holistic development. Our policies and rules are designed to instill values such as responsibility, integrity, punctuality, and respect for others.

We believe that clearly defined guidelines help students thrive and contribute positively to the school community. The rules and regulations outlined here are meant to support students’ learning, ensure safety, and maintain a harmonious atmosphere for all.

We request all students, parents, and guardians to carefully read and understand the policies. Adherence to these guidelines is essential to uphold the standards and ethos of RSPS.

  1.  Punctuality and regularity in attendance is essential. Students who have been absent the previous day must bring a note of explanation     through ‘Record of Non-attendance’ page of the almanac without fail. In case of illness a Medical Certificate should also be sent.  Students who expect to reach home late after the school due to personal reasons must inform their parents/guardians in advance.

  2. Entry into school premises is not permitted before 7:30 a.m. Late arrival will be permitted between 7:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., only 3 times in a month.

  3.  A minimum of 75% attendance is compulsory to be eligible to appear in the examination.

  7.  In the event of collective damage to school property in class room, the entire class will be charged the cost of damage. A vigilant outlook should be maintained towards keeping the surroundings clean. All waste papers should be picked up and thrown into the dustbin.

  8.  Students are not allowed to leave the class without class out-pass and without permission of the teacher. While moving in between the classes in the corridors and while using the staircases all must keep to the left. Students should move in a way that no child is disturbed.

  9.  A student must speak in decent language all the time. He must ensure that his speech is courteous and polite.

  10.  Every student is required to carry the school identity card each day of the school.

  11.  Students are expected to bring the books according to the time-table.

  12.  Students are not allowed to receive private tuitions from the teachers of the school.

Attendance policy

Absences
It is the parent’s responsibility to report each and every absence. Please call the school office a day before or before 9:00 am and provide the student’s name and grade level. Your call will be recorded on the answering machine (24 hours a day) or handled directly by office personnel. In order to obtain the best possible education, it is important that students attend class on a daily basis and arrive on time. Regular classroom participation is necessary to achieve the best possible learning situation for every student. This policy statement has been developed to encourage good attendance and to discourage tardiness. Our goal is to maximize every student’s opportunity to learn. Attendance is the responsibility of parents and students. A student must attend class regularly to receive a passing grade. A student who is absent from school more than 4.5 days per quarter and whose absence has materially affected academic progress, may receive a lower grade or be retained at the discretion of the school administration

Excused Absences

  1. Illness: A doctor’s/parent note of reason for absence is required for your student’s attendance file.

  2. Medical appointments or treatments: Will require a doctor’s note for the student’s attendance file.

  3. Religious holidays: A parent note is required for the student’s attendance file

  4. Death: A parent note is required for the student’s attendance file.

  5. Personal or family emergency: A parent note is required for the student’s attendance file.

Early Release
Parents are requested to schedule appointments to avoid the need for an early dismissal. If it becomes necessary for the student to be released from school for a doctor/dental appointment or other unavoidable emergencies, the following procedure should be followed:

  1. Parent/Guardian will need to send a handwritten note to school (or call the school) that states the student’s first and last name, date and time of release, and the reason for the early dismissal. The student is to bring this note to the office before school begins.

  2. All students must be signed out by a parent/guardian (or someone designated by the parent/guardian on the emergency card) in the office before leaving the building.

  3. The written note will be kept in the students attendance file.

Tardiness
Being on time is a life skill important to each student’s future, and schools share the responsibility to teach the importance of this skill. Tardiness of individual students interrupts instructional time for all students. Promptness to class allows the teachers to begin the instruction on time for everyone. Tardiness to class is defined as not being physically in the room at 8:00 am.

  1. Three tardies is equal to 1 unexcused absence

  2. Three unexcused absences due to tardiness will result in a 9:00 am detention on the following school day.

  3. If tardiness continues suspension from school will be at the discretion of the administration.

Student’s Responsibilities
To attend school daily, on time and participate fully. The student who has been absent has the responsibility for securing and completing make-up assignments. The class work must be made up within a specific time period equaling one day make-up per one day absence. In case of a pre-arranged absence, the class work is due the day the student returns to school. All work not made up within the time limit will be graded zero.
